Stop losing sales when inventory runs short. With Backorders, you can now accept orders for out-of-stock items. No more choosing between blocking the sale or removing quantity restrictions entirely.
How it works: Enable backorders at the facility level, and when a customer orders more than what's available, Canix automatically splits the order — fulfilling what's in stock immediately and placing the rest on a dedicated Backordered Sales Order. Both orders stay linked for easy tracking.
What's new:
- Backordered status — a new first-class Sales Order status so you always know what's waiting on inventory
- Automatic order splitting — mixed-availability orders are cleanly separated into fulfillable and backordered orders, just like LeafLink
- Linked Orders — navigate between the original and backordered order with one click
- Availability reporting — a new Backordered quantity column in your Item and Product Availability Reports so you can see real demand at a glance
- Backordered columns on Items & Products — see backordered quantities directly in your inventory tables
- API support — backordered_quantity is now available on the GET Items endpoint for your integrations
The best part? Backordered quantities don't count toward your Ordered inventory — so your availability numbers stay accurate.
